Dental implants - How they work and what they are made of?
Dental implants are metal elements that are surgically implanted into the upper or/and lower jaws. They are used in a surgical procedure aimed to restore the functionality and rehabilitate oral health.
- Implants replace the root and are used to stabilize artificial teeth. By consequence chewing, digestion, comfort and speech are facilitated and improved
- Implants feel and function like natural teeth. Due to the implant being anchored in the bone of the jaw, like a natural tooth root is, there is no difference in the feeling of it.
- They aim to regain the integrity of patients facial features that have been affected by the loss of their natural teeth
- They are a long-term solution, due to the guarantees of the materials used and adequate integration into the jaw
- Implants are the most comfortable solution because they do not cause any unpleasant friction or movement on the gums

When to choose an implant?
- Missing a tooth but bridge is not an option
- Implant placement is the best solution due to the fact that the quality of your teeth doesn’t allow us to to perform a procedure necessary when a classic bridge was being made (prepare (cut) two adjacent teeth)
- Couple or more teeth missing
If more teeth are missing, implants must be embedded to serve as bridge supporters - Complete teeth missing
Depending on the needs of each patient, we offer a fixed or mobile solution
Fixed solution is performed by creating an implant bridge meaning at least 6-8 implants are installed in one jaw and then a circular bridge is created
Mobile solution is an implant prosthesis; a smaller number of standard-size implants or so-called mini-implants that hold the prosthesis can be embedded. Dentures worn with implants are much more stable than regular dentures but can still be removed for cleaning.

All-On-4® concept for dental implants is a treatment that’s a result of one day of surgery!
At TIM Dent Zivanovic, we’ve been using this concept since the late ‘90 because it’s a cost and time efficient solution that provides our patients implants and a fixed full-arch prosthesis in the same day of the surgery. It allows the patient to immediately have teeth.
